Comedy Clubs in South Orange County

South Orange County is home to many popular destinations, from the famous beaches of Laguna and Newport, to the notorious Coto de Caza of Bravo’s hit TV series, “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” There are many options when deciding what to do in South Orange County. Among these options is to attend a comedy club or night.
  1. Irvine Improv

    • There is only club specifically devoted to comedy in South Orange County, The Improv. The Improv is located in the Irvine Spectrum shopping center and has played host to a variety of comedians, such as Bill Belamy, Tom Arnold and Jamie Kennedy. Every Tuesday at 10 p.m., The Improv plays host to one of the most famous comedy shows in the country, Comedy Juice. The club also offers special events, discounts and a full restaurant menu.

    Westside Bar and Grill

    • The Westside Bar and Grill plays host to the Westside Comedy Club every Wednesday night. While not solely a comedy club, the Westside Bar and Grill offers a variety of activities throughout the week. It is a full-service bar and offers a full restaurant menu, complete with daily specials and a weekend brunch.

    The Coach House

    • Like Westside Bar and Grill, The Coach House is not a comedy club. Unlike Westside Bar and Grill, it is not a bar, but primarily a concert venue. While not always offering a comedy act, The Coach House occasionally plays host to a comedy routine. It also offers a restaurant menu and dinner reservations are strongly recommended.

    Alternate Ideas

    • If a comedy club is not located in the immediate vicinity, there are a few alternatives. First, check the local bars and pubs for live performances. Open mic nights are usually a good place to find fresh new acts and possibly catch some comedy as well. Second, look at local concert venues for performances. There is a chance that a comic will be performing or something else in the schedule might spark an interest. Lastly, if there is absolutely nothing else available, many bars and clubs offer karaoke, which can be a fun alternative or substitute for a comedy club.
