Laffs Comedy Club has two shows each on Friday and Saturday nights, usually with experienced touring comedians. The Tempe Improv continues that laughing legacy with national touring comedians like Tom Green and Rob Schneider nearly every weekend. The club is for ages 18 and over, and there is a two-item food or drink minimum per show. Next door is the Wonderama Theatre, which has family entertainment like magic and music shows.

The performers have included Marc Price, who gained fame as Skippy from the 1980s comedy "Family Ties," and Brian Bradley, who appeared in a "Seinfeld" episode and a dozen other shows. The club offers stand-up comedy classes that teach all areas of the craft, including writing, performing and physical comedy. The class gets to perform in front of an audience at a half-dozen "Student Showcase Shows" throughout the year, or they can participate in open mic night on the last Sunday of every month. Performers need to sign up in advance and are expected to promote their performance. Comedy Spot is a 21-and-over club and has a two-drink minimum with a limited food menu.
