Comedy Clubs in Maine

If you are in need of a good laugh during a long, tough winter in Maine, you may want to try out one of the local comedy shows. There may only be a handful of clubs in the state, but when the mercury drops and the sun stops shining, some humor will be a welcome change of pace.

  1. The Comedy Connection

    • The Comedy Connection, in its current form, has been around since 1993 and is Maine's only full-time comedy club. To inquire about upcoming acts, check online or call in. The box office is open Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday, noon to 10 p.m.

    The Gold Room

    • Though not a full-time comedy club, the Gold Room hosts a weekly comedy show, "Headliners Comedy Club" every Friday night. Shows run from 8:30 to 10:30 PM and feature three comedians. Admission is $12.

    Comedy Barn at Spectators Sports Bar

    • A bar and grill by nature, Spectators Sport Bar sometimes hosts a comedy show called the "Comedy Barn." Shows are sporadic and usually take place on Saturday nights.
