How to Move Files From a Computer to TASCAM With a CF Card

There are several different TASCAM devices that use compact flash (CF) cards. TASCAM is a company that produces music recording devices, such as mixers. For devices that use CF cards, you can record directly to the memory card and then transfer the music files to and from a computer.

  • Compact flash memory card reader
  • TASCAM device with CF
  • CF card
  • Computer
  • USB cable

Instructions

      Connect the USB cable from the computer to the CF memory card reader.

      Insert the CF card into the memory card reader.

      Double-click on "My Computer," then double-click on the drive that corresponds to your CF card. It will say "Removable Disk" next to the drive letter.

      Right-click on the files you want to copy and click on "Copy," then click on the open window for the drive corresponding to your CF card. Right-click in the window, then click on "Paste."

      Click on the icon in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of your desktop to safely remove hardware. The icon has a small gray rectangle with a green arrow above it. When you click on it, a list of available devices you can stop will appear. Click on the drive that corresponds to your CF card.

      Remove the CF card from the reader and insert it into the side of the TASCAM device. Turn on the device to read the files from the CF card.
