How to Transfer CD Music From a Computer to SanDisk

SanDisk manufactures flash memory storage devices. The company's USB thumb drives and memory cards allow users to store, transfer and maintain media files conveniently. Instructions

  1. Copy the CD Files

      Open Windows Media Player.

      Insert your audio CD into the computer's disc drive.

      Wait as Windows Media Player detects the CD. It will list the CD tracks in the left pane of media player window. De-select tracks you do not want to rip by clicking the little green arrow beside the track title.

      Click the "Rip" tab and WMP will begin ripping the music to your computer.

      Exit Windows Media Player when the rip has complete. Eject your CD from the disc drive.

    SanDisk USB Drive

      Connect your SanDisk USB drive to your computer by inserting it into an available USB slot.

      Wait as Windows detects your USB drive. Your USB's Removable Device dialogue box will launch. Select "Open Folder to View Files." If Windows does not detect your device, click "Start" on your task bar and open "My Computer." Locate your USB device under Removable Storage and double-click the icon to open the folder.

      Click "Start" from the task bar and open My Documents. Select the "My Music" folder and open it.

      Locate your ripped CD music files. Press and hold "Ctrl" and "Shift" while clicking on the files to select more than one track. Drag and drop the files into your SanDisk USB folder to transfer them.

      Exit all windows when you are finished. Safely remove the USB drive by right-clicking the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the task bar. Then click "Remove."

    SanDisk Card

      Insert your SanDisk card into your computer's card slot. If your PC is not equipped with a card slot, attach a card reader and insert the SanDisk card into the card reader. Most card readers connect via USB.

      Wait as Windows detects the card reader. The Removable Device dialogue box will launch. Select "Open Folder to View Files." If Windows does not detect your device, click "Start" on your task bar and open "My Computer." Locate your SanDisk card under Removable Storage and double-click the icon to open the folder.

      Locate your ripped CD music files. Press and hold "Ctrl" and "Shift" while clicking on the files to select more than one track. Drag and drop the files into your SanDisk card folder to transfer them.

      Exit all folders and windows when you are finished. Safely remove the USB drive by right-clicking the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the task bar. Then click "Remove."
