Located off HWY 71 on Hill Country Boulevard, the Cinemark is about 19 miles from the heart of Austin and just five miles outside of Lakeway, making it the closest theater. The Cinemark is open seven days a week and offers discount rates for children under 11, senior citizens, and matinees. For admission into an “R” rated movie, individuals must be 17 and have a valid ID or accompanied by a parent.
The Alamo Drafthouse is a franchise theater in downtown Austin which caters to the 18 and over crowd. A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18. Children 6 and under are not permitted in the Alamo Drafthouse except on “baby day,” which is once a month. Located 15 miles east of Lakeway, the Alamo Drafthouse shows movies along with serving meals and alcoholic beverages.
Located on Great Hills Trail, the Regal Arbor Cinema is approximately 13 miles outside of Lakeway and 11 miles northwest of Austin. In business since 1989, the Regal Arbor Cinema has eight screens and features IMAX, 3D, and RealD movies as well as many independent films. It offers discount ticket prices for matinee and early evening shows.
The AMC Theater on Capitol of Texas HWY features 14 big screens and is about 12 miles east of Lakeway. Located at the Barton Creek Mall outside of Austin, the AMC is handicap accessible and staff can personally assist people with disabilities to find seats, snacks and drinks. In addition, AMC offers private movie showings for groups, business meetings, and/or parties.
