How to Contact Movie Stars

You might write a movie star an appreciative letter -- and ask for an autographed photo -- if you are a long-time fan. Other reasons to contact movie stars include business proposals, such as a request to read a script. A movie star is often contacted to request his participation in a charity event, or to lend his name in support of a special cause.

Instructions

    • 1

Look up the mailing address to send fan mail to a movie star; mail is often sent in care of the star’s manager or agent. This information is frequently on the star’s official website, or the website of the star’s production company. Contact information might also be available on a fan-produced website. Consult an online database of movie-star contact information.

    • 2

Contact the Screen Actor’s Guild (see Resources). Ask for the "Actors to Locate" service. This service is typically used to request contact information regarding employment issues with a movie star.

    • 3

Keep an eye on the news section of a movie star’s official website -- or a fan site devoted to a movie star -- to see if she is participating in a scheduled online chat to promote a movie opening. Participate in the chat -- which might be moderated -- and ask a thoughtful question.

    • 4

Follow a movie star’s Twitter feed. Note whether he ever directly communicates with fans. Tweet a comment or question, and see if the movie star responds.

    • 5

Keep up with celebrity news stories; the movie star you are interested in meeting might be attending a public event in your area.
