  1. Laugh In Comedy Cafe

    • The Laugh In Comedy Cafe serves laughter and food every Friday and Saturday evening (as well as some Thursday night special events such as concerts). Two shows per night (8 and 10 p.m.) include up-and-coming Florida comedians and headliners. Visitors can select from menu entrees such as linguini, breaded chicken, burgers, patty melt and chicken cordon bleu. Appetizers include onion rings, chicken wings, fries, potato skins and chili poppers. Salads, sandwiches and dessert round out the menu. Beer and wine are available by the glass or bottle. Guests must be age 21 or older.

    Comedy Zone

    • Less than an hour's drive from Fort Myers in Port Charlotte is Visani's Comedy Zone. Every Wednesday through Saturday the Comedy Zone presents local and big-name national comedy acts. Friday diners can opt for a fixed price dinner and a comedy show not open to the general public. Start with shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, fried calimari or seafood chowder. Entrees include chicken marsala, coconut shrimp, seafood ravioli and tuna Italiano. Save room for desserts (death by chocolate, caramel flan, rice pudding). An a la carte menu and full bar also are available.

    The Improv

    • For the truly comedy-dedicated, consider a road trip to the Improv in Tampa, two hours north of Fort Myers. The Improv offers comedy every Wednesday through Sunday (double shows Friday through Sunday). Dining is available, including entrees such as a jerk chicken sandwich, chicken Parmesan, mushroom Swiss burger, grouper fingers, island mahi in shrimp sauce and linguine primavera. Start with coconut-fried shrimp, mozzarella sticks, soft pretzels, wings and quesadillas. Beer is available in domestic, premium and imported bottles. Champagne is available by the split and bottle; the Improv also serves frozen drinks (virgin available), coffee specialties, martinis and wine.
