Comedy Clubs in and Around Phoenix, AZ

The state capitol of Phoenix, Ariz., is the sixth largest city in the United States and has a large creative arts community and a rising comedy scene, with several comedy clubs in town and near by. Performing arts theaters, such as The Orpheum and Dodge Theater will occasionally have superstar comedians like Jerry Seinfeld or Jim Gaffigan pass through for one or two night engagements, but there are a number of clubs that put on comedy shows on a much more regular basis.
  1. Rascals

    • Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, Rascals Comedy Club offers excellent regional headliners and local stand up talent tjhree to four nights a week. The showroom can seat up to 150 people and has a full bar and kitchen available for service throughout the course of the show. Headliners typically perform on Friday and Saturday, with a opening and feature act performing beforehand. Rascals is also available for private parties and functions.     Space 55

    • Space 55 is a non-profit, multi-purpose theater and performance space that often has comedy shows in its monthly lineup. Space 55 has several resident improv troupes, a variety night which includes sketch and stand up acts, and occasional local stand up showcases. The theater sells refreshments and snacks in the lobby and can seat upwards of 100 people. The show calendar is different every month, so contact the club beforehand to find out when comedy nights are.

    The Comedy Spot

    • Located 12 miles out of town in Scottsdale, The Comedy Spot is open three to four nights a week and is host to regional headliners and local emerging talent. Friday and Saturdays are headliner nights, and Sunday's are open mic nights. The Comedy Spot a showroom that seats 100 people, a full bar, and serves several appetizers. Prices and show times vary per show, so be sure to contact the club beforehand.

    Jesterz Improv

    • Jesterz is an improvised comedy theater space located 12 miles outside of Phoenix in Scottsdale. Jesterz is open two nights a week, with two shows each on Friday and Saturday. Jesterz seats up to 120 people. Jesterz is also available for private parties and events, and offers comedy classes for those interested in learning how to create improvised comedy.
