    • Catch A Rising Star has locations in New York City; Princeton, New Jersey; Providence, Rhode Island; and Reno at the Silver Legacy Casino. This well-known comedy club has made and broken many a comic's career. Open Tuesday through Sunday, this club books some of the better-known up-and-coming comics on the circuit. This chain also offers comedy classes, as well as improvisation classes.

    Funny Bone

    • Funny Bone is located in the Sands Regency Hotel and features a non-smoking comedy lounge. Performances are Wednesday through Sunday. The comics who perform here are not necessarily world-class. Despite this, the club draws plenty of regulars. Funny Bone has a two-drink minimum and a favored drink called "The Boner" (vodka, rum, strawberries and a straw). They also have a Ladies' Night as well as regular performances by the Comedy Hypnotist, Merzmeron. Admission for 2010 ranges from $14.50 to $19.50 for VIPs.

    The Grand Sierra Casino & Resort

    • Formerly known as the Reno Hilton, the Grand Sierra Casino and Resort features comedy in addition to other kinds of entertainment. The casino stage and Grand Theatre are large venues and typically book big touring shows, such as Conan O'Brien and the late George Carlin. You can purchase individual tickets, which are priced accordingly for big acts ($50 and up in 2010), or VIP packages. The resort has plush accommodations as well as three fine-dining restaurants, seven casual-dining restaurants and seven lounges.

    Peppermill Reno Hotel Casino

    • The Peppermill Reno Hotel Casino is new, big and plush, and they regularly book comedians, along with other acts. Howie Mandel and Ron White have both appeared at the Peppermill. Tickets for shows start at $50 in 2010. Amenities at the Peppermill include three high-end restaurants, four casual dining establishments and a variety of snack bars. The Peppermill has a "Plus 55" club, which offers discounts on all services for those 55 and over.

    Harrah's Reno

    • Harrah's Reno hosts the occasional comic in its Sammy's Showroom, named for Sammy Davis, Jr. Though Jerry Seinfeld has trod Harrah's Reno's boards, the casino club usually host musicians. Harrah's has all the amenities, including games, burlesque dancers and beer pong competitions. They also offer spa treatments, wine tasting and ski packages.
