Open the program by clicking on the program icon on your computer. After the program loads, open the session file that you want to use by navigating to "File" and "Open." Navigate to the place where you have your files saved. Once the session you want to use opens, click on the "S" button to listen to a drums solo.
Press the "Play" button on the screen to listen to the kick drum. If the sound is a little flat, adjust it. The sound can be adjusted by looking in the "Dynamics" menu at the top of the screen. In this menu there is a compressor plug-in. Click on it and then click on "Factory Default." Then click on "Tight Kick." This will make the sound resonate more.
Click again on the "S" button and open up the snare. Follow the same steps you followed in the previous step by going to the "Dynamics" menu and opening the compressor. However, instead of clicking on on "Factory Default," instead click on "Basic Snare." This will help regulate the volume level.
Add the guitar by again going to the "Compression" menu. Select the use basic bass preset. This will allow the bass to create a sound together with the drums and snare rather than compete for attention against them.
Hit "Play" to listen to all of the channels together. Play around with the faders on each channel until you get the right mix of sounds you are looking for. Then hit "Save," and you will have created a beat with Pro Tools LE.
