How to Use M-Audio Pro Tools LE

The Pro Tools LE audio editing software is programmed to be used in conjunction with the M-Audio hardware interfaces. When loaded, Pro Tools LE software will require an M-Audio hardware component. It can be used to edit audio files digitally using patches, plugins and effects. The files can also be cut, copied, pasted or duplicated with the Pro Tools LE program. All the abilities of the Pro Tools LE software can be activated with a mouse or through simple keyboard commands.

Instructions

    • 1

Open up the Pro Tools LE editing software on the computer and turn the M-Audio interface on (only applicable if the device is four channels or bigger). Edit audio files for length, thickness and dynamics. Highlight any section of the audio on the wave form (main screen) that is undesired---such as too long into noise, feedback, or run over sounds.

    • 2

Select the "Edit" button and choose "Cut" to remove the piece of wave form that is to be discarded. Copy areas of the wave form for thickness. Highlight the areas and select "Edit" and "Copy." Open a new track for the file by selecting "File" and "New Track." Click on the new track to access the blank wave form. Select "Edit" and choose "Paste" to duplicate.

    • 3

Select the entire wave form on all tracks for effects and advanced editing. Select the "Plugin" option on the tool bar. To lessen the dynamic interval of the audio (make the hard to hear parts louder, and vice versa) select the "Compression" option from the tab and select the percentage of compression desired.

    • 4

Select other plugin options desired for application onto the wave forms and select the "Preview" button in the right corner. Select "Edit" and choose "Undo" if any plugin makes an unwanted adjustment to the wave forms. Select the "File" tab when finished and select "Export as MP3" option to create a solid one-track recording of the project in its final state.
