How to Use ProControl With Pro Tools LE

The Pro Control from Avid Technology is a mixing board and audio interface that is designed for use with Avid's Pro Tools audio software. The Pro Control allows for users to input, record, edit, mix and master audio and MIDI all from the unit rather than the digital mixers and editors in Pro Tools. This gives users a more hands-on experience with their work. The Pro Control is designed specifically for Pro Tools, so it is not compatible with other audio programs.

Instructions

    • 1

Install Pro Tools LE from the installation disc. To do this, insert the disc into the disc drive, and select "Install" from the menu. All the necessary drivers for Pro Control use are automatically installed with Pro Tools LE.

    • 2

Connect the ProControl's power cord to a power source.

    • 3

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the computer and the other end to the ProControl.

    • 4

Turn on Pro Control, then click the "Setup" tab at the top of the screen.

    • 5

Select "Peripherals" from the drop-down menu and click on "Ethenet Controllers." Click the "Enable" button to make Pro Tools scan for the ProControl. Select the first unit, and press "OK" to close the window and apply the changes. The ProControl can now be used in Pro Tools.
