Click "Product" and select your preferred VST plug-in from the drop-down menu, such as "Auto-Tune Evo."
Click "Version" and select "Mac & PC Native." Enter "1" under "QTY."
Click "Add to Cart" and proceed to checkout. Enter your payment details in the box provided and select "Desktop" as your download destination.
Visit www.Fxpansion.com, hover your mouse over "Products," then over "VST to RTAS Adapter V.2" and then click "Purchase." As of June 2011, the price is $99. This adapter pack is necessary for Pro Tools 7.3 to run VST plug-ins.
Click on your country. There are four options, "USA," "UK," "European Union" and "Rest of the World."
Click "Proceed to Checkout" and, if necessary, create an account by entering your email address, name and selecting a password.
Enter payment details, then select "Desktop" as the download destination when prompted.
Click the "+" icon when the VST to RTAS adapter pack dialog box opens and select the downloaded VST from the menu.
Click "Detect and Wrap." When you click on it, the adapter pack adds what is called a wrapper to the original code, making it compatible with Pro Tools 7.3.
Close the adapter dialog box and launch Pro Tools 7.3 by double-clicking the desktop icon. Click "File" and select the session in which you wish to work. If your Pro Tools is configured to open the last edited session and it automatically opens a session you don't want, click "File" and select "Open Recent." Select the correct session from the menu.
Click on the track to which you want to add use the VST plug-in with, for example "Vocals 1." This assigns the subsequent edits from VST specifically to this channel.
Open the "Mixer" view option. Click "Inserts" and select the VST from the drop-down menu.
