The Pan Am Fiesta is Lakewood's largest event of the year. This fiesta's tradition came from the Lakewood Lion's Club Members who wanted to bring North and South American cultures closer together. There are many different aspects of this event, including a Flags Exchange ceremony, a poster contest and a poetry contest. The fiesta also features arts and crafts, food booths, displays, entertainment and carnival rides. The Pan Am Fiesta is not only an event where with local residents, friends, and family can gather together and be entertained, but it event where people can explore different cultures and have fun at the same time. The three-day event is held at Mayfair Park in May.

The Lakewood Country Club has a championship layout combining 11 acres of water and lakes and features sand bunkers and bermuda grass on tees and fairways. Some of the amenities include a clubhouse with three banquet rooms, driving range, a shop, bar and grill, practice bunkers and a snack bar. The course has 18 total holes and the par is 72.

The four-acre Monte Verde Park includes the S. Mark Taper Foundation Vista Lodge, a 3,000-square-foot reinterpretation of a classic mountain lodge with a panoramic view of the park. If you're looking for things to do here, the park's programs include overnight camping, vacation day camp programs and special recreation classes. Every year, there are more than 10,000 people who use Monte Verde park for the outdoor experience or for an opportunity to camp in a city setting. The park also features an amphitheater with a fire ring and a pergola back group, a picnic and barbecue area and nature trail.
