Movie Theaters in Grover Beach, California

Grover Beach is a small city that covers only 2.25 square miles and is located on the central coast of California. The town has no movie theaters--fortunately for film aficionados, however, there are plenty of movie theaters nearby. Grover Beach film buffs can catch a Hollywood blockbuster or a 3-D film, enjoy the nostalgia of a drive-in, or catch an independent flick.
  1. Regal Arroyo Grande Stadium 10

    • Located two miles from Grover Beach in Arroyo Grande, the Regal Stadium 10 is a state-of-the-art movie facility that features 10 screens including 3-D screens and stadium-style seating. The theater shows many of the current Hollywood blockbusters. As of January 2011, general admission for a matinée is $8, while an evening feature costs $10.50.

    Fair Oaks Theatre

    • Located 1.5 miles from Grover Beach, Fair Oaks Theatre is a single-screen theater that plays a mix of family films and first-run Hollywood blockbusters. As of 2011, general admission is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and children. Originally built in 1940, the theater has undergone renovations including adding stadium-style seating. If you sign up for the theater's weekly newsletter at their website, you are also entitled to a free bag of popcorn when you attend a show.

    Sunset Drive-In

    • Film fans looking for a different experience on a budget can check out the Sunset Drive-In, located 10 miles from Grover Beach. Owned and operated by the same company that owns the Fair Oaks Theatre, Sunset Drive-In offers moviegoers an element of nostalgia. The audio comes through a designated station on your FM dial, and the drive-in shows a double-feature for the price of one. As of 2011, general admission is $7 for adults and $2 for seniors and children.

    The Palm Theatre

    • Located 12 miles from Grover Beach, The Palm Theatre is an independently owned movie theater. According to their website, it is America's first solar-powered movie theater. The Palm features a variety of films including Hollywood blockbusters, independent movies and foreign films. As of January 2011, general admission for a matinee is $6, while evening shows cost $8 for adults. All seats are $5 for any show on Mondays.
