Good Time Line Dance Steps

Alan Jackson released a video that shook the country music world. As Christy Frink writes, "he attempts to embarrass us by breaking the world record for the longest line dance (in people, not length of time) in the history of...ever." Those country music people, what do they know. The Good Time Line Dance is fun, and the dance steps are easy to learn. Get your dance shoes on and start dancing.
  1. First Sequence

    • Start by facing the middle of the room with your feet close together and your hands by your sides. Step forward four steps starting with your right foot. Walk forward by planting your right heel first, then your toe, breaking each step into two beats. It should sound like "ba-da, ba-da, ba-da, ba-da." Step to the side with your right foot, and slide your left foot to meet your right. Step to the side again with your right foot and slide your left foot over again. Step to the side twice more, but leading with your left foot and sliding your right.

    Second Sequence

    • Step forward and to the right. Step forward with your left foot end place your left foot behind your right. Turn on the ball of the right foot to the right until you face front again. Set your left foot down beside your right and clap. Do the same steps but start with your left foot and turn to the left.

    Third Sequence

    • Pick up your right knee and angle it to the right a little, set your right foot down and a little behind where it started. Lift up your left knee, angled a little to the left, then set it down a little behind where you started. Lift your right knee, angled a little to the side, and set it down a little behind where you started.

    Fourth Sequence

    • Jump up in the air and land with your right foot in front of your left. Jump up and land with your right side facing the center of the room and your feet apart.

    Fifth Sequence

    • Step to the side with your right foot, bring your left foot to your right. Step forward quickly with your left foot, then let your weight go back to your right foot without lifting your left foot. Step to the left with your left foot and bring your right foot to your left. Step back quickly with your right foot then allow your weight to go forward on your left foot without lifting your right foot.

    Sixth Sequence

    • Step to the side with your right foot and allow your knees to bend as you do so. Bring your left foot to your right foot and straighten both knees. Step to the right again with your right foot with your knees bent, then bring your left foot to your right and straighten both knees.
