Earthquake Line Dance Steps

The Earthquake line dance is a line dance made popular by country singer Ronnie Milsap's hit song "Earthquake." Learning to dance the Earthquake can be a very enjoyable and rewarding hobby. Dancing is a fun exercise and a great way to keep the body in shape. Learning the Earthquake line dance is a simple process which does not require any special skills.
  1. Positioning and First Steps

    • Stand with your back straight and prepare for the music to begin. Step forward on your left foot and bring your right foot to meet it. Set your right foot down and step forward with your left. Turn your body clockwise so you are facing the right wall and step forward with your right foot. Set your right foot down and bring your left foot to meet it. Step forward with your right foot and bring your left foot to meet it. Turn your body clockwise again so that you are now facing the back wall.

    Middle Steps

    • Step forward with your left foot and set your foot down. Kick your right foot forward, and then step back on your right foot. Step forward with your left foot and set it down. Kick your left foot forward, and then step back on your left foot. Cross your left foot over your right and pivot clockwise so that you are facing the left wall.

    End Steps

    • Step forward on left foot, then set your foot down. Step forward on your right foot, then set it down. Kick your right foot, then set it down. Step forward with your right foot, set it down. Pivot your body another quarter turn, and you will be facing the front wall again. Step on your left foot, set it down. Kick your right foot, set it down while clapping your hands. Step on your right foot, set it down. Kick on your left foot, set it down while clapping your hands.
