Steps for the All Shook Up Line Dance

No line dancing session is complete without the "All Shook Up" line dance. As the name implies, this choreographed dance is performed to Elvis Presley's famous song "All Shook Up." The dance, however, only faintly resembles the dances Elvis himself performed to this song. The dance is not difficult to perform, but it will take some practice to remember all of the steps. Once you have them down, you'll be able to keep in step with your fellow participants.

Instructions

      Grapevine left with four heel-toe steps. To perform the grapevine left with heel-toe steps, cross the right heel over the left foot, then drop the right toes down to the floor. Move left on the left heel, then drop the left toes down. Cross the right heel behind the left, and then drop the right toes down. Step left on the left heel and drop the left toes down.

      Perform four traveling kick-ball-changes. To perform a traveling kick-ball-change, kick the right foot out, quickly step to the right with the right foot, then move the left foot beside the right. Repeat this step three more times.

      Point and step beginning with the right toe four times. To perform the point and step, point the right toe to the right, step the right foot beside the left. Point the left toe to the left, step the left foot beside the right. Repeat the right foot movement one more time, and follow it again with the left foot movement.

      Kick, point and sailor step twice beginning with the right foot. To perform this series of steps, kick your right foot out, and point the right toe to the right. Step the right foot behind the left, then quickly step left in place. Step your right foot besides the left. Now kick your left foot out, point the left toe to the left. Step the left foot behind the right, then quickly stomp the right foot in place. Step the left foot beside the right.

      Swivel your heels and then toes twice to the right. To perform the swivel, swivel your heels to the right, then swivel your toes to the right. Again, swivel your heels to the right and follow with a right swivel of your toes.

      Step, pivot halfway, step again, and perform a quarter-turn. To perform this series of steps, step forward on your right foot, pivot your entire body 180 degrees on the left, step forward on your right foot again, and turn 90 degrees of the way back to the left.

      Jump and spread your feet apart. Hold in that position and extend your arms forward. Pull the right hand and place it on your stomach and extend the other arm. Grunt "UNH!" and hold in position.

      Perform the hip bumps to the chorus "All Shook Up." To perform hip bumps, wiggle hips left to the word "All," wiggle hips to the right to the word "Shook," wiggle hips back to the left to the word "Up" and hold.
