Comedy Clubs in Long Island, New York

Long Island is 118 miles long, starting at New York Harbor and stretching east out into the Atlantic. It is a New York City suburb where many of its residents commute into Manhattan daily and many of its residents are wealthy. Long Island is no stranger to the entertainment industry and many movies have been filmed there, including "The Godfather," "Citizen Kane," "Batman Forever" and "Men in Black II." Comedy clubs are plentiful in Long Island with top comedians making the drive from New York City to perform.
  1. McGuire's Comedy Club & Restaurant

    • McGuire’s Comedy Club is in the center of Long Island near MacArthur Airport. It offers one show on Friday nights and two on Saturdays, with special shows and events on Wednesday and Thursday nights. An open mic night occurs once a week, and is led by comedian Billy Bingo. The stage hosts famous comedians such as Kevin James and John DiResta, as well as unknowns making their comedic debut.
      The club sports a full-service restaurant offering up appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and several entrees. There is a cover charge to see the shows and the club requires a minimum purchase while on the premises.

    The Brokerage Comedy Club & Vaudeville Cafe

    • The Brokerage made its debut in 1980 hosting comedians such as Eddie Murphy, Ray Romano and Tim Allen. The Club underwent a renovation in 2007 when new owners took over. The 3,000-square-foot space now accommodates 200 guests. The Vaudeville Café, the Club’s cocktail lounge, boasts a 35-foot bar where you can relax and enjoy a bite to eat before or after the show. The drink menu is extensive, and the dining menu offers appetizers, salads, burgers, wings, sandwiches and dessert.
      The Brokerage is open Wednesday through Sunday. Sunday Vaudeville nights highlights magicians, jugglers and ventriloquists, and a Wednesday Night Comedy Class is followed by Open Mic Night. A two-drink minimum is required within the Club.

    Governor's Comedy Club

    • Governor’s has hosted many big-name comedians, including Robert Klein, Kevin Downey Jr., Kevin James and Gilbert Gottfreid. The 200-seat venue is open Thursday through Sunday, offering one show each night on Thursday, Friday and Sunday and two shows on Saturday. Governor's offers has an open mic night the last Wednesday of each month, as well as a Comedy College for aspiring comedians.
      It has a pub menu and a dinner package menu with entrees such as lobster ravioli, chicken saltimbocca and ribeye steak. Admission to the shows varies depending on the event, and there is always a two-drink minimum per person.
