Don't let the Comedy Cellar's humble location fool you. This small basement comedy club hosts some of the biggest names in the business. Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld are a few of the comedians who have been known to drop in and perform surprise guest sets.
The club has two shows a day on weekdays, three performances on Fridays and four on Saturdays. Comedy Cellar is on the small side, so come early if you want a good seat. Guests are required to order at least two drinks, although they don't have to be alcoholic. Admittance is strictly 21 and over.

Gotham Comedy Club is a well-known club that has hosted comedians like Dane Cook, Lewis Black and Larry David. The club opened in 1996 and moved in 2005 to a historic building in New York's Chelsea district. The decor is fitting for the 1929 building, with Art Deco furnishings dominating the scene.
In addition to daily comedy shows, the club offers a range of comedy classes: one-day workshops, kids' classes and intensive eight-week sessions. Amateur comedians are given a chance to shine during the club's New Talent Showcase, and newcomers can also test out their material during the weekly open mic. Ticket prices vary depending on the event, and the club has a two-drink minimum.
