One of the oldest and largest comedy clubs in Seattle, the Comedy Underground showcases both local/new talent and is a stop for big-name touring comics. It also sponsors the annual Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition. Along with its sister location in Tacoma, Comedy Underground offers both all ages and 21+ shows.

Unexpected Productions, also known by the shortened moniker UP, has been running Seattle's longest-lived comedy improv show, Seattle Theatresports, for over 25 years. Theatresports performs every weekend in a historic theater in the Pike Place Market. UP also produces special comedy shows, does corporate gigs and other events, and offers improv and comedy classes to the public.

Jet City Improv is considered a training ground for up-and-coming Seattle comics, offering family-friendly improv and comedy shows, classes, drop-in comedy workshops and events. One of Jet City's most interesting services is its "character infiltration," bringing characters in to spice up a party or other event. Improv shows are offered almost every weekend of the year.

The enormous, 200-seat Laugh's Comedy Spot lies just a few miles across the lake, east of Seattle, in Kirkland. It attracts internationally-known and up-and-coming comedians, running shows and open mics throughout the week. All shows at Laughs Comedy Spot are 21+.
