Comedy Clubs in Seattle, Washington

Seattle has long had a vibrant comic scene, attracting top comedians from around the nation to a number of clubs and competitions around the city, including the annual Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition. The Emerald City also boasts a thriving underground. Many local individuals and troupes have gotten their start in the business by performing at some of the more established clubs in the city, including The Comedy Underground.

    • Comic icons like Jerry Seinfeld, Dana Carvey and Mitch Hedberg have all appeared on the stage at the Underground, the first comedy club in Seattle. The club also hosts an open mike for professional and amateur comedians.

    The Market Theater

    • This historic theater in the Pike Place Market is home to Seattle's longest-running comedy show, Seattle Theatresports Improv Comedy, which melds comedy, improv, drama and sports into an entertaining act. The Market Theater also hosts comedy classes and is home to the famous Gum Wall.

    Giggles Comedy Club

    • Although it recently changed management, Giggles continues to attract national acts like Michael Winslow of Police Academy fame. Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for these heavyweight acts, while open mike comes around every Thursday and Sunday night in the University District.

    Historic University Theater

    Laughs Comedy Spot

    Parlor Live

    • Parlor leans on local comic talent and radio personalities, while featuring more mainstream acts such as Rob Schneider and Anthony Anderson. This club also holds comedy workshops, including last year's Comedy Boot Camp hosted by Louie Anderson and Kyle Cease. The club is on the third floor of Lincoln Square in Bellevue, across Lake Washington from Seattle.
