How to Hook a Mackie 1202 to Delta 1010LT

The Mackie 1202 is a small audio mixer used for live or studio mixing and recording. The Delta 1010LT is an audio interface card for a desktop computer made by M-Audio that allows your computer to function similarly to a mixer. There are two ways to hook up the Mackie 1202 to the Delta 1010LT. The method you choose is dependent on which device you want to be your main mixer. Whichever device will be your secondary mixer will output to the main mixer.

  • 1/4-inch to XLR adapter cables
  • RCA to 1/4-inch Y-cables
  • Breakout cable (Included with Delta 1010LT)

Instructions

  1. Connecting the Mackie 1202 and Delta 1010LT with the Delta as the Main Mixer

    • 1

      Connect the breakout cable to leftmost jack on the Delta 1010LT card. Tighten the screws on each side of the breakout cable connector.

      Connect the 1/4-inch end of one 1/4 inch to XLR adapter cable to the top-rightmost jack on the Mackie 1202. The jack is labled with a "L" in the upper right corner and "Main Outs" below.

      Connect the XLR end of the 1/4 inch to XLR adapter cable used in Step 2 to the left (white) XLR cable on the breakout cable used in Step 1. The XLR cable is cylindrical with three holes at the tip.

      Repeat steps 2 and 3 with a second 1/4 inch to XLR cable using the right audio channel.

    Connecting the Mackie 1202 to the Delta 1010LT with the Mackie as the Main Mixer

      Connect the breakout cable to leftmost jack on the Delta 1010LT card. Tighten the screws on each side of the breakout cable connector.

      Connect the white RCA end of a 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable to the leftmost RCA cable on the breakout cable used in Step 1 that has a white tip.

      Connect the red RCA end of a 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable to the leftmost RCA cable on the break out cable used in Step 1 that has a red tip.

      Insert the 1/4-inch end of the 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable into the 1/4-inch jack on the Mackie 1202 labeled "Line 1."

      Repeat steps 2 to 4, going in order, on the breakout cable from left to right for each of the three remaining inputs on the Mackie 1202.
