The XL1600 has phantom power individually assignable across 12 channels, while the FX16ii has phantom power in two groups across 16 channels. The XL1600 has four-band EQ, compared to three-band EQ for the FX16ii. Behringer equips the XL1600 with 20-by-60-millimeter faders, while the FX16ii has slightly larger 21-by-100-millimeter faders. Possibly the biggest difference between the two mixers is that the FX16ii has onboard effects, while the XL1600 doesn’t. The FX16ii has a total of 32 effects settings, including a 24-bit Lexicon digital effects processor. The XL1600 does have two multi-functional stereo effects returns, however, for hooking the mixer up to external effects units.
The Behringer XENYX XL1600 measures 23.1 inches wide, 25.2 inches deep and 11.7 inches tall at its tallest point. It weighs 26.5 lbs. before optional upgrades and accessories. The Soundcraft FX16ii is smaller than the XL1600, measuring 17.46 inches wide, 17.42 inches deep and 5.83 tall at its tallest point. It is also lighter than the XL1600, weighing in at approximately 19 lbs. before optional upgrades and accessories. Both mixers are rack-mountable.

Additional notable features of the FX16ii include a tap tempo tool and an onboard stereo high pass filter. The Behringer XL1600 has talkback functionality, while the FX16ii doesn’t. Neither mixer has computer connectivity or integrated LCD displays.
