Plug your source material into the Behringer DEQ2496. Use the inputs located on the back of the DEQ2496 to control the device through a MIDI interface or simply plug in 1/4-inch jacks from audio equipment. You can send the MIDI signal from a software audio editing program to trigger the DEQ2496 or you can connect the device with a wordclock connection, which will synchronize the DEQ2496 to digital recording devices such as a digital mixing board.
Use the DEQ2496 as a graphic and paragraphic equalizer. The DEQ2496 has four different equalizers that you can use separately or simultaneously. Boost or cut specific frequency bands using the 31-band graphic EQ to fine tune sounds. The 31-band virtual paragraphic EQ is perfectly suited for boosting or cutting a range of frequencies quickly; you can also adjust the width of range easily adjusted.
Use the DEQ2496 as parametric equalizer. The parametric equalizer allows you to select a frequency range and adjust that range using a width control. The parametric EQ can boost and cut that band in small or large increments. This is a more traditional way of effecting a sound whether for a recording or for live use on stage.
Utilize the DEQ2496 as a feedback eliminator. The DEQ2496 has a built-in dynamic EQ that can monitor the frequencies that are coming through the device and automatically find the ones that are responsible for the feedback. Make adjustments that allow the DEQ2496 to notch the frequencies responsible for the feedback or manually make the adjustments allowing the DEQ2496 to learn how to make the adjustments on the fly.
Use the DEQ2496 as a compressor/limiter. The device is capable of compressing a signal and limiting loud noises and music that come through it. This allows you to use the DEQ2496 as a mastering tool and also for individual instruments such as bass guitar or with vocals if necessary. The DEQ2496 is capable of up to a 1:100 ratio for a squashed sound and has a wide range of attack and release points to adjust the compression.
