Classical Music Festivals in India

Classical music in India is essentially divided into two types--the Hindustani classical music, which is more popular in the northern side of the country, and the Carnatic music, which is predominantly followed in the southern states. Most classical music festivals in India are in the winter months between December and February. Some one-day festivals are also held throughout the year.
