How to Add a Rhythm Track to Fantom X Roland

The Roland Fantom-X series keyboard and controller is a powerful tool for live instrumentation and audio production. While the Roland Fantom-X series keyboard is has great capability for melody, you may also readily control drums and bass, or rhythm section. Adding a rhythm track to your song requires selecting a rhythm patch from the device's patch library.

      Push the "Patch/Rhythm" button to view the Patch Play screen.

      Push "F7" to control your percussion from the keyboard or "F8" to control it from the touch pad.

      Set the patch type to "Rhythm" if it is set to "Patch." Check the text field directly above the patch name. Move the cursor to the field and turn the "Value" dial until the field reads "Rhythm."

      Set the patch category to include the group of instruments or sounds you would like to use in your rhythm track if necessary. Move the cursor to the "Patch Category" field and turn the "Value" dial until you find your desired rhythm sounds.

      Move the cursor to the rhythm set number. Turn the "Value" dial to select your desired rhythm set number. Touch the pad or play the keys to test the sounds if you are unsure as to whether or not you have found your desired rhythm set.
