How to Make a CD With Roland Fantom S88

If you are trying to create a CD with the Roland Fantom S88, you need the correct connections. While the Fantom interface makes it possible to export audio files to your computer, you must ensure the computer has a USB connection slot. The Fantom workstation allows you to sample, record, edit and transfer audio files via USB. To make a CD on the workstation, use USB connection cable. Only audio files in WAV, AIFF and MIDI format can be exported and burned to a CD.

      Power off the machine and connect the USB cable to the back of the workstation. The USB slot is the last one on the right. Power on the workstation.

      Press the "Menu" button on the workstation. Scroll through the selections by using the up and down direction arrows. Select "USB." Scroll down and select the "Internal Memory" or "Memory Card" option, depending where the file is located.

      Click the "Start" button on your computer and open the "My Computer" tab. The workstation will show up as "Removable Disk." Double-click the icon and select the "Roland/SMPL" folder.

      Highlight and select the file from the list. Your file must be in the "Roland/SMPL" folder to be exported. Drag the file to the desktop. The file must be in WAV format to be burned.

      Drag and drop the file onto the Windows Media icon. Preview the file by pressing the "Play" button. Click the "Burn" tab at the top of the window. Press the "Start Burn" icon at the bottom of the window to start the burning process. Wait until the CD is finished burning.
