How to Make a Free CD Copy

Making a free CD copy is easily done through a series of steps using Windows Media Player, a free audio software that comes installed on every PC. Simply insert the CD you'd like to copy and use Windows Media Player to rip the audio files from the CD and copy them to another CD. When finished, you can repeat the burning process to create additional copies of the CD free.

      Insert the audio CD you would like to copy into your computer.

      Open Windows Media Player.

      Click "Rip" and choose "Start Rip," located in the bottom-right corner of Windows Media Player. After the audio CD is finished being ripped by Windows Media Player, eject the CD from your computer.

      Click "Burn" and drag the audio files you ripped from your audio CD into the burn list located in the column on the right side of Windows Media Player.

      Insert a blank CD-R into your computer.

      Click "Start Burn" and Windows Media Player will automatically burn the audio files to the CD-R.

      Eject the CD when finished.
