How to Change a WAV to an MP3 for Free

Change a WAV to an MP3 for free with the free audio software, Windows Media Player, that comes installed on every Windows computer. Unfortunately, Windows Media Player does not possess the option to directly convert a WAV file to an MP3 file. Instead, the WAV file must first be burned to a CD-R and then ripped from that CD-R as an MP3.
