Connect your Trigger Finger to a second MIDI device. The Trigger Finger was designed for use with computers, but can function with sound modules and other digital devices as well. Connect a standard MIDI cable (not included) to the "MIDI Out" port on your Trigger Finger, and into the "MIDI In" port on your second device. If connecting to a computer, use the included USB cable and install the included software.
Power on your Trigger Finger by connecting it to your computer via USB, or by connecting it to a wall socket using the included AC adapter, and then pressing the "Select" button. Your LED screen will light up.
Put your Trigger Finger into "Edit" mode to begin setting up your parameters. Press the "Prog/Bank Change" and "Memory Recall" buttons simultaneously and then click any of the 16 pads that you would like to edit.
Turn the first of the eight knobs (on the far left) to designate a note for your pad. The notes will appear on your LCD screen. Use the remaining seven knobs to adjust other parameters, such as the velocity, pressure control and designated MIDI channel (if feeding data to a MIDI device on an individual channel). When you find the values that you want to assign to that pad, tap the next pad and repeat the process. Do this for each of your 16 pads.
Press the "Select" button and then turn any of your eight knobs or four sliders. Then immediately press "Select" again. You can now assign individual values to your selected knob or slider, just as you did your pads in step 4.
Click the "Save & Exit" button and then tap any of the pads to save your settings. You can then create a completely different set of parameters and save them to a different pad, if you so desire. The Trigger Finger allows you to save up to 16 different memory arrangements. After saving all of your memory arrangements, click "Save & Exit" to return to "Performance Mode," which allows you to use your Trigger Finger as an instrument.
Open a MIDI-compatible audio program on your PC (if using a computer as your second device) or turn on your sound module or sequencer. Select a sound setting on your second device, such as a software instrument within an audio program, or a sound bank preset on a sound module, and use the pads on your Trigger Finger to play the notes in real time.
