How to Reset the M-Audio Trigger Finger

The M-Audio Trigger Finger is a digital MIDI controller designed for those who like to make music on their home computers. The Trigger Finger contains an arrangement of customizable knobs, pads and buttons, which you can use to record digital music, with the help of a MIDI-compatible recording program. If you want to erase your saved settings and restore your Trigger Finger to its factory settings, you can do so in a matter of seconds.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your M-Audio Trigger Finger. You can power the Trigger Finger through your USB port or through a wall outlet. If your Trigger Finger is presently connected to either (or both) of these power sources, you will first need to unplug it, cutting off all power to the device.

    • 2

Press and hold the "Full / Lock Velocity" button and the "Program / Bank Change" button at the same time. The "Program / Bank Change" button appears directly beneath the LCD screen, near the upper-left corner of the device, and the "Full / Lock Velocity" button appears directly below the "Program / Bank Change" button.

    • 3

Connect your Trigger Finger to either a USB port or wall outlet while continuing to hold down the "Full / Lock Velocity" button and the "Program / Bank Change" button. Continue to hold the buttons for at least two seconds after reconnecting your Trigger Finger to its power supply.

    • 4

Release the "Full / Lock Velocity" button and the "Program / Bank Change" button. Your M-Audio Trigger Finger will now discard any previously-saved memory and return to its original factory settings.
