How to Use M-Audio Oxygen

The M-Audio Oxygen is a commonly used MIDI controller for people starting out in music production. Many beginners often have the misconception that a MIDI Keyboard such as M-Audio's Oxygen has it's own sound bank. The Oxygen can only be used to control the sounds in a virtual instrument (VSTi) plug-in or VSTi stand alone software. When M-Audio updated it's Oxygen to version 2, many VSTi software companies were unprepared and had to release software updates. Most recording programs recognize the Oxygen when you plug it in. For some recording programs, you must manually add it.
