An act file is an adaptive delta pulse code modulation (ADPCM) audio file created and used by Mikomi brand voice dictation recorders. The act audio voice recordings are stored on the recorder's internal memory and can be transferred to a computer via universal serial bus (USB). Conversion from ACT to other audio formats is done via software which comes with the recorder.
Automatic channel targeting (ACT) is a wireless microphone technology which helps simplify the use of wireless mics in live venues. ACT provides rapid and automatic channel setting for the mic transmitter, bypassing any manual channel setting which would normally have to be performed. This saves time when setting up a performance or event.
