How to Set Up the Zoom G1 Expression Pedal

If you are using the Zoom G1 guitar effects pedal processor, getting the correct parameters and pedal adjustments can be a difficult task. The G1 pedal allows you play and create music from it's internal effects processor, which holds more than 200 sounds. To configure the setup process, you must have a FP01 or FP02 expression pedal. Once the pedal is connected, you have full access to select patches, tune parameters and control volume.

Instructions

    • 1

Power off all equipment before making connections. Plug the pedal into the "Control In" slot on the back of the effects processor. Connect the AC adapter to the back of the effects processor, and power it on.

    • 2

Select the patch you want to use for the pedal by using the "Bypass/Tuner" foot switches, which are located on the front of the processor.

    • 3

Set the "Modulator selector" knob to "Play" mode. If you set the pedal in "Bypass" mode it only works as a volume control pedal. Hold down the "Rhythm" key, and turn the "Value" knob to select the device to control with the expression pedal.

Press down on the pedal to set the pedal settings for the selected patch. Plug the guitar into the "Input" slot on the back of the processor, and test the pedal settings.
