Ensure both the G9.2 and the computer are powered off. Connect the USB cable to the computer, then to the rear panel of the G9.2. Connect the power supply adapter to the rear panel of the G9.2 and slide the power switch to "on." Connect your speakers or headphones to the output socket on the Zoom, rather than the computer's audio output. The Zoom will override the computer's outputs when it takes over as the primary sound-card. Press the power button on the computer to boot into your operating system.
Open the Control Panel via the start menu if using Windows and access "Sound." Select the Zoom G9.2 from the drop down list of available devices. If using a Macintosh, open "System Preferences" from the Apple menu in the top right corner, select "Sound" and choose the G9.2 from the list in the lower half of the window.
Launch Cubase 5. Open the options menu. On a Windows machine this is under "Edit" menu, on a Macintosh it is in "Cubase 5> Preferences." In the "Devices" tab, select the Zoom as the Primary Audio Device from the drop-down menu.
Create a new audio channel by double-clicking in the channel strip at the left of the screen. The two drop-down boxes above the volume fader represent the input and output routing. Select "Input 1" in the text box to use your guitar signal as the input. All the Zoom's effects and processing will work as normal.
