How to Make a Music T-Shirt

Make your own music T-shirt to show your support for your favorite band or artist. You can design your own picture from the front of a shirt, but make sure you do not use a design that is trademarked or copyrighted (for legal reasons). Making a music T-shirt not only shows support for your favorite band, it's also fun way to pass time with friends. All supplies are available at department and craft stores.

Instructions

    • 1

Create an image in Photoshop or Microsoft Paint. Import photos of the band or create your own design. Access the printer options from the "File" menu. Flip the image when you are complete so it is reverse. This way, it will appear on your shirt the proper direction.

    • 2

Change the paper settings to T-shirt transfer paper. Select the brand and type of paper you are using if this option is available on your printer. Choose "Print" and wait for the transfer to print out.

    • 3

Wait for the transfer to dry. In the mean time, wash and iron your cotton T-shirt so it is clean and wrinkle-free. Dirt and wrinkles may prevent the image from properly melting onto the shirt. Set the iron to the setting suggested on the transfer packaging.

    • 4

Place the transfer where you would like it on the shirt. Remember you cannot move the image once you start melting it on the shirt. Make sure this image is face-down on the shirt.

    • 5

Hold the iron over the transfer in small sections for 15 seconds (or as directed). Move on to the next section. When completed with each section, slowly run the iron over the entire image one more time.

    • 6

Start at one corner of the transfer paper and slowly peel the back off to expose the image.
