How to Apply for Extreme Makeover

Extreme Makeover is short for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," a reality TV show. Participants on the show have their old home demolished and a new one built by professional contractors. The general public is encouraged to apply via the show's official Web site. As of 2011, the hour-long show has been in production for eight seasons. The show typically casts families suffering economically and also those who have special circumstances, such as children with disabilities.

      Download the application form.

      Fill out the application form. The application form asks questions about the family, such as where they are located, members of the family, economic circumstances, general questions about the house and the family's history. The application is extensive as the show's producers want a lot of background information about the family.

      Capture media for the application. The application form also asks for photos and/or video of the family and house. Compelling video and photos will help the application stand out.
