Visit MTV's website. At the top of the page, select "Shows." A list will appear on the left side of the screen. Click on "Be On MTV," near the bottom of the list. This will open a new window that lists the open casting calls.
Scroll through the shows that MTV producers are looking to film. Select "Parental Control" if that is an option. Different shows are taped at various times of the year, and the taping isn't always consistent from year to year. If "Parental Control" is not one of the current options, check back every month or so.
Click on "Parental Control" if it is listed. Audition options vary. For some shows, MTV wants you to submit a tape featuring you and the others in your group who want to appear on the show. For other shows, you are merely be required to submit your story via a specified email link. The email submissions require a current photo.
Get permission from your parents -- if you are a minor -- and others involved. Before you can be on "Parental Control," you will need parental consent. This is largely because most people on "Parental Control" are younger than 18. MTV also will want permission to film your parents, partner and potential suitors whom you will meet. If you are selected, MTV will schedule a filming time for all of you.
Wait for a call. MTV producers have to go through a long list of candidates. You usually will have to go through a series of telephone interviews. The producers are looking for big personalities, people who will make the show interesting. Candidates need to be articulate, as those who get on the show will be entertaining the audience based on their delivery and actions.
