How to Open a Netflix Envelope
Netflix envelopes bring your DVDs to you, and allow them to be returned. Not opening your Netflix envelope correctly causes frustration when you want to return your DVD. New subscribers to the Netflix service may not see or understand how the envelopes work and tear the wrong side open. Knowing how to open your Netflix envelope keeps the DVD safe as it returns to the processing center. With more than 20 million subscribers as of June 2011, that's a lot of envelopes going through the mail.

Hold the Netflix envelope in one hand. Slide your finger along the perforated edge between the flap and the envelope. The envelope has a note stating, "Open Along Edge."

Pull the flap and the envelope sections apart to tear the perforated sticker holding the flap down on the side.

Remove your disk from the envelope and the inner sleeve. The DVD is now ready for your player.
