How to Cancel a Netflix Trial

As of January 2011, Netflix offers a free trial membership for those considering purchasing the subscription service. During this period, participants can access Netflix services such as online streaming movies and DVDs through the mail free of charge. However, to avoid charge, participants must make sure to cancel the trial membership within the allotted time period. For instance, a person with a one month trial period must cancel within one month of starting the trial. Canceling a Netflix trial membership is fairly simple and can be completed any time of the day as long as it is within the allotted time frame.

     Log in to your Netflix account. Select the "Your Account & Help" link at the top of the page. This will lead you to a page displaying your account information.

     Select the "Cancel Membership" link on the page. Read the information about canceling membership. As of January 2011, Netflix requires those canceling a subscription to return all outstanding DVDs within seven days of cancellation.

     Select the box titled "I accept and understand the terms of cancellation and want to cancel my account." Select the "Complete Cancellation" to finish canceling your trial service.
