How to Print Movie Labels

Movie covers, such as DVD covers, can be designed and printed at home. Printed movie labels are needed for DVD discs that do not have covers or did have covers, but have been misplaced. You can easily make homemade movie labels at home and print them to fit DVD cases, as long as you have the right tools. You do not need expensive software, as movie labels can be made using Microsoft Office programs.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a PowerPoint document. Select the "Blank" template without headings or text boxes.

    • 2

Click the "Insert" tab and select the "Picture" button. Locate the picture you want to use on the movie label. Ensure the picture is large, so the pixels look nice once it is uploaded. It needs to be at least 600 x 600 pixels for a clean look.

    • 3

Pull the corners of the picture to make it larger. The picture needs to cover the entire PowerPoint slide.

    • 4

Click the "Insert" and choose the "Text Box" option. Click on the slide where you want the text box inserted and drag the mouse slightly to the right until a box has been created.

    • 5

Write the title of the movie in the text box. Once done with the text, click anywhere on the PowerPoint slide.

    • 6

Click the Microsoft button in the upper left-hand corner and select the "Print" option. Click the secondary "Print" button.

    • 7

Locate the "Scale to Paper Size" option. Click the drop-down menu and select the "No Scaling" option.

    • 8

Place the printer paper in the printer.

    • 9

Click the "Print" button to print the movie label. If a message comes up, notifying you of the margins, click "Ignore" or "Continue."

    • 10

Insert the newly printed movie label into a DVD cover. The measurements of the printer paper fits into the DVD cover.
