Bend your knees. Keeping your knees together and moving fully bent arms together in opposition to your knees, move across the floor, keeping your weight over the balls of the feet. There are four beats and related movements to a set: heels toward the right, then toes toward the right, then heels toward the right, then toes toward the right. Do this three times: move to the right, reverse to go toward the left, and to the right again. The accompanying lyrics are: "Lolly, lolly, lolly pop/oh lolly lolly pop/lolly lolly lolly pop."
Begin the across-the-floor movement a fourth time, but only do two repetitions of the heel-toe movement. On the third and fourth beats, put your left hand on your left hip and bounce in place. The lyrics are "Oh lolly POP POP." Optional: on the fourth beat of each set, lift the non-weight-bearing foot.
The "Lollipop" dance is performed on video by an ensemble of dancer/singers, each improvising within the basic set of movements. Watch and imitate several videos available online, including some that have mirror-image movements, to become comfortable with the dance.
Dance the "Lollipop" dance with a group of four or more people to gain the same sense of joyful ensemble movement that is shown in the videos. Shoulder and hip isolations and arm waving should all be done in unison.
