How to Do the Cyclone Dance

Ladies who frequently visit dance clubs may be on the lookout for a move that shows their bodies at their best. The Cyclone could be one such move for women with curves and an exhibitionist personality. Often associated with urban circles, the Cyclone incorporates eye-catching movement throughout the arms and legs. Proper Cyclone technique and performance takes some homework. Game dancers should not only understand the swiveling nature of the Cyclone but also the artists' work that spawned it.

Instructions

    • 1

Evaluate the lyrics of the song "Cyclone," by the artists Baby Bash and T-Pain. You will encounter such phrases as "shaking that rumper," "get lower than a muffler," and "she drop it down low." All of these provide an indication of the movements expected from you when performing the Cyclone dance.

    • 2

Form a loop over your head with your arms, fingers clasped together. In this formation, rotate your arms around your head in the shape of a halo.

    • 3

Include lower body action simultaneously. Gyrate your waist, concentrating on fully incorporating your hips and behind into the circular movement. Experiment with your legs both close together and wide apart. Descend from a standing position into a flirtatious crouch close to the ground, and come back up.

    • 4

Add personal flair. To maintain the Cyclone, your waist and behind should be in constant rotation, but you can improvise dance moves with your upper body. Occasionally break the hoop shape in your arms, allowing them to swing about stylishly. Pop and lock; create angles in your elbow, shoulder and wrist that you hold static, then rapidly vary.

Interact with the song. It is important to both listen to the track and watch the video created for it. This further helps you pick up the dance moves you'll need to learn to perform the Cyclone dance authentically, and from which you vamp in your own unique style.
