How to Do The Reject Dance Move

The Reject is one of four dance moves in the Jerk, a California street dance. Jerkin' was popularized by bands such as New Boyz and Keak Da Sneak. It contains four parts: the Reject, Jerk, Dip and Pin Drop. The dance isn't difficult, but some people consider the Reject to be the most difficult portion because it takes coordination. Put in a little practice time, add your own style and you'll be dancing the Reject in no time.

Instructions

Understand the move. The Reject is a backwards version of a popular '80s dance, the Running Man. If you aren't familiar with it, watch Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" video. Seeing the forward motion will help you understand the steps better when you put them into reverse.

Learn the steps to the Reject. First, step with your left foot. Then lift your right foot up and let it fall back behind you as you jump. As your right foot hits the ground, lift your left foot and let it fall back while lifting the right foot again. Continue repeating these steps until the Reject portion of the dance is complete.
