How to Do the Peel the Orange Dance

Unlike the Hokie Pokie or the Electric Slide, the Peel the Orange dance is not widely known. The dance is a combination of a few simple moves and once you learn it, you'll be able to impress your friends and family with something new. You can learn the steps on your own and then teach the dance to others.

Instructions

    • 1

Bend your knees and sway your hips from side to side. This is the base movement of the dance, which means that you'll do this the entire time along with other moves. To set the tempo, you should be able to sway from one side to the other 10 times in five seconds.

    • 2

Raise your right arm by extending it out with the palm facing upwards. Then curve your arm over your head, creating a half circle. This motion is called "forming the orange".

    • 3

Continue forming the orange by raising your left arm up over your head in the same way you did the right arm with your finger tips touching. The two half circles should form a round shape above your head.

    • 4

Drop your right arm slowly and wave your right hand simultaneously. This motion is referred to as "peeling the orange". Keep in mind that your hips should still be swaying from side to side.

    • 5

Lower your left arm as your right arm rests by your side. As you lower it, wave your hand back and forth as you did with the right side. Once both arms are relaxed by your sides you have officially completed the Peel the Orange dance.
