How to Dance the Smurf

The Hanna-Barbara television cartoon series "The Smurfs" inspired the Smurf dance of the 1980s. While the blue, childlike Smurfs had existed in comic strip form since 1958, they did not make it to the small screen until 1981. The Smurfs sang, they did their chores, they remained eternally optimistic and they danced, giving rise to a club dance and competitions. Learn the Smurf dance so you can dance along with them as you watch reruns -- or go to a Halloween party in character.
