How to Cite a Syllabus

When you reference another person's writing in your paper, even if it is from your class syllabus, you must give credit and cite it properly on your works cited page. Some syllabi are written by the course's professor, while others are created by the academic department and so have no known author. The citation format differs slightly depending on which of these your syllabus is.

There are many forms of citation, including MLA, APA, Chicago and others. The following describes MLA format as of the 7th Edition because it is a common standard for academic papers.
