How to Order a Magazine

With such a variety of magazines on the market to choose from you are sure to find ones that are entertaining or informational to meet your needs. While it can be rewarding to sift through stacks of different magazines at newsstands and bookstores, having your favorite magazine delivered to your door is not only convenient, it assures that you never miss a page of the publication's content. To order magazines, you will usually need to subscribe through one of a few different methods.

Instructions

    • 1

Look for an insert inside the pages of your magazine if you already have a print copy of the magazine you want to order -- chances are you are familiar with these inserts already. These inserts are typically about the size of index cards, and offer pricing and subscription information. To order, fill out your contact and billing information and send it to the publisher with your payment.

Visit your local magazine stand and select the magazine you want to order. Look the editorial box for editorial and publishing information. This box is usually within the first few pages of the publication, though sometimes it is near the end of the magazine. Contained in this section will be information on how to subscribe to the magazine. This might include a phone number to call, an address to send payment to or a website to visit.

Visit the magazine's website for ordering and subscription information. These days most substantial print publications have a website. Often these websites will feature a sampling of the content contained in the print edition along with information on how to order. For many magazines, you can pay online and have magazines sent conveniently to your home.

Contact your local bookstore to see if it will special-order the magazine for you. The bookstore will typically want to work with you and your needs. Even if it does not have a publication in stock on its shelves, it can special-order it for little to no charge to you.
